Steels 1 Ashton 1

Post  David Bradley on Tue Aug 16, 2011 4:15 pm

Not much in the teams tonight could have won it with Rio s header but a draw was the right result. We looked good at the back couldn't see if Davis had handballed midfield got lost for a while but overall I think it was tough game and shouldn't be too dissappointed .

Poor 1st half performance, lacked pace and penetration, played at Ashton's slow tempo. Vast improvement 2nd half. Whatever was said at halftime certainly worked, looked hungrier and made Ashton give the ball away when put under pressure.

Not sure what Davies was doing for their penalty, looked miles off the pace as did Cotton. Room for improvement in both positions I think.

Yet again on the number of chances created we should have won.

Where are Chris Glarvey and Colin Marrison?

Marrison is suspended after his red card in the senior cup final. Glarvey I believe is on honeymoon.

Fair result in the end, we could have won it but could have lost it. Think we will need to improve for Saturday though.
